死因背中より一度、深く刺される。肺に到達する傷による失血死。凶行から数分以内に絶命。備考両眼に、極度の瞳孔の収縮を認める。	Cause of Death Single, deep stab wound from behind, piercing a lung and resulting in a fatal haemorrhage. Death would have occurred within minutes. Notes Extreme miosis - pupil constriction - was observed in the victim in both eyes.

8月11日、同大学講堂にて夏目なつめ漱石そうせき氏の講演会の後、恐るべき事件が発覚した。
勇盟大学ゆうめいだいがく医学部の研究室にて極秘ごくひ開発中の猛毒が、何者かの手で盗まれたという。

Exclusive! Deadly Poison stolen from Yumei Medical Research Laboratory!

Following a lecture at Yumei by Soseki Natsume on 11th August, it's come to light that a very disturbing incident took place.
A deadly poison being secretly developed in the university's forensic science laboratory was stolen.

《少量デ死二至ル!》

この猛毒を、わずかな量でも口にする、或あるいは刃物に塗布とふして刺すことで体内に摂取されると、数分後、死に至る。
開発中の新薬ゆえ、検出は不可能であり、大学の管理体制が問われるは必至である。

- Deadly in Tiny Quantities! -

Even the smallest amount entering the body, either via the mouth or via a wound from a poison-laced blade, would prove fatal in minutes.
Current methods cannot detect the newly developed chemical. The university would have to be consulted.

《何故、毒ノ開発?》

服毒して数分、呼吸困難を発症。やがて瞳孔が針の先のように収縮して死に至る。この特徴が現れたら、死因の推定は可能。
猛毒は数種のアルカロイドから精製した新薬で、軍部の依頼で作られたとの噂も。

- Why is the Poison Being Developed? -

Onset of symptoms occurs in minutes, starting with impaired breathing and ending with acute contraction of the pupils prior to death. Such symptoms would be suggestive of this toxin. It's apparently an entirely new synthesis of alkaloids and rumoured to have been commissioned by the military.
